In this guide, you’ll learn how to create a wax seal that feels more like a miniature art piece. By layering and shaping different wax elements, you’ll end up with a one-of-a-kind design that’s sure to impress.
Materials
- Conch wax stamp
- Blank wax stamp
- Sealing wax warmer kit
- Large melting spoon
- Wax spatula
- Silicone mat
Step 1 | Create the base
Start with the background of your seal. Choose two colours - one for the ocean and one for the seaweed. While the wax is hot, pour the ocean colour first, then add the seaweed colour on top. Use a toothpick to drag the seaweed shade upward into squiggly lines, mimicking underwater plants. Quickly press a blank stamp over the wax to set the background.

Step 2 | Layer the wax
For the sandy bottom, pour wax onto a silicone mat and spread it with a spatula to create a rough, textured look. Once it sets, use a blank stamp to cut out a semi-circle.

Step 3 | Add texture
Place the sand layer onto your wax seal. If it feels too flat, add more wax and use the spatula to build up texture until you’re happy with the look.

Step 4 | Assemble the design
Use melted wax as “glue” to attach all the layers together. And there you have it - your first wax seal art piece, uniquely crafted and full of dimension!
