July | Marbled Tile

In this guide, I’ll walk you through how I melt wax sticks using our Wax Seal Stove and Spoon Set. Plus, learn how to create beautiful marbled wax right in the spoon for stunning wax seals every time.

Materials

Step 1 | Heating up your spoon

Allow the spoon to warm up for about 30–60 seconds before you place the wax. This will help the wax melt more evenly.

Once the spoon is hot, you can begin to melt the wax stick directly on it. Hold the wax stick in one hand and the spoon in the other. Gently press the wax stick against the spoon and rotate it slightly so it melts evenly.

Step 2 | Marbling your wax

For a marbled effect, use two different coloured wax sticks at the same time. This is where I would highly recommend the large melting spoon as it has enough space to hold and melt both colours simultaneously.

The key here is even heat! Melting both colours at once ensures a more natural blend and keeps one from overpowering the other.

💡 TIP: If you're using a smaller spoon, melt one colour halfway before adding the second to avoid overflow or uneven texture.

Step 3 | Pouring your wax

Once the wax is fully melted, gently pour the wax using a spatula to swirl the colours together. You can go for a light swirl to keep the colours distinct, or stir more thoroughly for a blended marble effect.

Step 4 | Stamping square wax seals

If you’re using a 25mm square stamp like the Vacation Tile, you’ll need a slightly more wax than you would for a round stamp — just enough to fill out those corners without excess overflow.

Stamp directly in the center of your wax puddle. With square stamps, precision is key to avoid one side looking heavier than the others. You can gently press down and hold for a few seconds to get clean edges and even pressure throughout.
