The perfect pair to last month's stamp is here! In this tutorial, you'll learn how to create beautiful wax seals using hot glue, without sacrificing the charm or craftsmanship of traditional wax sealing.

Materials

Step 1 | CHOOSE YOUR BACKGROUND
Pick out some scrapbooking paper you love! These will show through your seal and create a unique backdrop.

TIP: Not all hot glue is created equal! Be sure to use crystal clear glue sticks so the paper beneath can shine through for a clean, polished look.

Step 2 | HEATING YOUR GLUE
Hot glue has a higher melting point than sealing wax, so give your glue gun a little extra time to warm up. The glue should flow smoothly and feel slightly thinner than traditional sealing wax.

TIP: Dispense to the shape of the wax stamp. For example, dispense the glue in a straight line for the key, and in a rounded puddle for the lock.

Step 3 | HIGHLIGHT THE DETAILS
Once the glue cools, use a paint pen to carefully highlight the stamped design. This step really brings out the intricate details, especially with the transparency of the glue.

Step 4 | TRIM IT UP
Cut off the extra paper to clean up the edges to give your "glue seal" a finished look.

Step 5 | TIME TO DECORATE
Now for the fun part — decide where to use your new seals! Attach them to gift tags, envelopes, or any other stationery using a dab of hot glue or an adhesive backing.
